Don't worry, there are many ways to stop Panic Attacks It was the same as most people who have had panic attacks. Frightening. I thought I was having a heart attack, which at the age of 35 seemed surreal. Then again, not leading a healthy lifestyle and smoking 40 cigarettes a day could well have led to one. But it was no heart attack. I was told afterwards that it was a panic attack. I’d never had one before. How could this be? My parents never had it as far as I was aware. I didn’t even know anybody else that had suffered from it. Why then did it happen? There’s no definitive answer to this but after doing a little research, a few things may well have brought the panic attacks on. I’d split from my childhood sweetheart whom I loved dearly, got made redundant a couple of weeks later then lost my mother to a long term illness shortly after that. This seemed the most plausible answer. Losing loved ones and a significant change in my life all at once had to be the reason. After suffering a few more, I was determined not to let this ruin my life; after all, I’d been fine once upon a time. I researched a little more in depth to look at causes, cures and other people’s experiences; after all there would be people out there who had suffered attacks for years. I tried allsorts of things from doctors, therapists, medication courses… nothing seemed to work. The attacks were getting worse by this stage, and I was beginning to think I’d have to live with it. Then I came across Panic Away. At first I was dubious and treated it with trepidation but after going through it, it helped me understand the true nature of anxiety, which were the best and worst food to eat, and so much more. I can now live my life to the full without the worry and stress of whether I’m going to have more panic attacks or not and I feel so much more stress free. I’m back to my old self again!
